    Lovecraft’s “At The Mountains Of Madness” was serialized in Astounding Stories two and a half years before Campbell’s “Who Goes There?” (and written seven and a half years prior). Within, one reads of shoggoths, entities that can assume any shape. Carpenter knows better, but no mention of Lovecraft’s story is mentioned in this article.
